District invites community to participate in online design visioning discussion for new schools
Dear Wauwatosa Community Members -
The Wauwatosa School District is gathering community input in the design visioning for the four new elementary schools that will be built as part of the approved facilities referendum.
The first two schools to be constructed will be Lincoln and Underwood Elementary.
As part of the process, the District is hosting six neighborhood meetings (three per school) and utilizing an online engagement tool called Thoughtexchange to gather community feedback.
Responses to the question posed via the Thoughtexchange will help the architects identify which elements of design the community values for the buildings.
HOW IT WORKS
You'll be asked to respond to one open-ended question and then have the opportunity to consider and assign stars to the ideas shared by others. The greater the number the stars you assign, the more you agree with the thought. The fewer the stars, the less you agree with the thought.
Because each school will have its own unique design, there are two different ThoughtExchanges.

Thoughtexchange keeps your thoughts and stars (how you respond to others’ thoughts) confidential. You can come back as often as you'd like to participate and, in fact, we'll ask you to come back to the exchange later to star some of the new ideas shared since you first participated.
Participation will be open until Monday, December 10.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
When you click on the links above, you will see a “Welcome” screen with an arrow to review the steps or an option to skip. You will then be at the log-in screen where you do the following:
- Input your email address and it will email you a six digit code. Don’t forget to check your spam folder.
- Retrieve the code from your email and copy and paste it into the spaces provided on the Thoughtexchange page
- Create a password to use for future logins with Thoughtexchange
- Once you have entered your password you'll be taken into the exchange to participate. For future uses of Thoughtexchange, you'll simply need your email address and password to log in.
We look forward to hearing your input and thoughts as we discuss the design vision for our new school buildings.
