School Board Meeting Preview - March 6, 2023

The Wauwatosa School Board will meet for its first meeting of the month on Monday, March 6, 2023. The meeting will be held at the Fisher Administration Building (12121 West North Ave.) in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. The meeting will start at 6:00 p.m. A link to the meeting livestream can be found here. 

In an effort to streamline Board meetings, the District will provide the Board and the community with recordings of presentations (often referred to as “flipped” presentations) prior to the meetings. Presentations are linked on BoardDocs and within the communication below. 

On Monday, March 6, following review of the Consent Agenda, the Board will be asked to take action to approve the School Resource Officer Memorandum of Understanding with the Wauwatosa Police Department. Public comment will be heard on this item. 

Ms. Sarah Zelazoski, Chief of Talent, will present the monthly Human Resources Report, and will request the Board take action to approve the Proposed Change to Compensation System for Support Staff (Administrative Assistants, Custodial and Maintenance and Educational Assistant Classifications). Ms. Zelazoski will also request the Board approve the Proposed 2022-2023 WEA Compensation Adjustments and Retention Bonus Payment for Teachers and Support Staff. Public comment will be heard on the action items. 

The Board will then be asked to approve the Proposed 2023-2024 School Year Calendars. Public comment will be heard on this item. 

The Division of Academic Performance will discuss with the Board the Mid-Year Review of Student Growth and Achievement Results. The flipped presentation can be found here. No action will be taken on this item, and no public comment will be heard. 

The Board’s Legislative Advocacy Committee, Finance + Resource Committee and Policy Committee will all deliver updates. 

The Policy Committee will conduct a First Reading of Proposed Revisions and/or New Policies, and then will request that the Board take action to approve Revisions or Adopt New Policies that were read on February 13, 2023. Public comment will be heard on the action item only.
