Board Meeting Preview - Jan. 9, 2023

The Wauwatosa School Board will meet for its first meeting of the month on Monday, January 9, 2023. The meeting will be held at the Fisher Administration Building (12121 West North Ave.) in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. The meeting will start at 6:00 p.m. A link to the meeting livestream can be found here. Mr. Luke Pinion, Chief of Pupil + Family Supports, and Mrs. Laura Geisler, School Safety Coordinator, will present to the Board a proposed School Resource Officer Memorandum of Understanding. This document outlines a proposal for the working partnership between the Wauwatosa School District and the Wauwatosa Police Department. The Board will be asked to vote on this item at the meeting scheduled for January 23, 2023. 

 

The Board will also discuss the availability of non-resident Open Enrollment seats for the upcoming school year. Per the linked document, the Superintendent will recommend that the Board of Education approve a total of 75 Open Enrollment seats. The Board will be asked to vote on this item at the meeting scheduled for January 23, 2023. 

 

The Board of Education Policy Committee will request the Board’s action to approve its second reading of Policy Proposals. The Committee will also conduct the first reading of additional Policy Proposals.

 

The first reading of additional policy proposals will be conducted by the School Board Policy Committee, and a first reading of the Legislative Advocacy Committee’s recommended legislative priorities for 2023-25 will also be conducted. 

 

And finally, there will be Board discussion related to Administrative Analysis Concerning the 2023 Wisconsin Association of School Board Proposed Resolutions to the Delegate Assembly.
