Mrs. Jessica Schmidt

I teach English as a Second Language (ESL) at East High School and Lincoln and Washington Elementary schools, and I have been with the Wauwatosa School District since 2010.  I am also the advisor for the AFS / International Club at Tosa East.  Before joining the staff here, I taught pre-Kindergarten at a private preschool, was a Director of Education at Sylvan Learning Center, and taught English at Menononee Falls High Schoool.  Whatever position I have held in education, I have always firmly believed in developing students' confidence.  With English Language Learners in particular, it is important to establish rapport and trust in order to encourage students to take chances with learning and using a new language.  I want students to walk away from their interactions with me feeling important and valued.  Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, watching movies, and reading.
