Hello and welcome to the art studio! My name is Sara mateske. I have been teaching elementary art in the Wauwatosa School District since 2003. I feel privileged to work with all of the talented young artists at Eisenhower and love sharing my passion with them. In the art studio, students are encouraged to find their artistic voice through the choices they make and be able to tell their story through their work. My goal is for student to gain experiences, develop appreciation, make connections to the world outside the art studio.  Our art department has worked hard to build a curriculum that supports the development of creative thinking, visual literacy and communication skills. While creating art, students will imagine possibilities, explore alternatives, and reflect on their own art as well the work of others. Through the artmaking process, students develop habits that support 21st Century learning in our ever changing world.
