Ms. Megan McKay

My teaching career started in the Wauwatosa School District in 2006. Prior, I attended UW-Milwaukee earning a BFA in Art Education, a BFA in Painting/Drawing, an Art History minor, and a UW-Milwaukee Honors College degree. In 2010, I was named by Herb Kohl as a Teaching Fellowship Recipient.

My teaching experiences cover kindergarten through 12th grade. I currently teach at East and Longfellow. In the art classroom, I believe that all students can and will learn. I center myself in supporting students in finding their artistic voices. Students learn techniques to create pieces that represent who they are and how they view their worlds.

My own artwork stems from my experiences growing up on a fifth-generation hog farm and the way ancestry manifests in our lives. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two sons, being outdoors, and creating new things.
