Ms. Patty Coleman

I have been teaching elementary school since 1986. I have been in the Wauwatosa School District since 2005. My first year at Washington was spent in first grade. After that I moved to fifth grade where I stayed for eight years. I spent one year in fourth grade before I landed in third grade where I hope to stay for a long time. What an exciting year of learning opportunities. In English Language Arts, we use the Treasures Curriculum with high interest themed units that build upon reading comprehension skills, spelling patterns and writing skills. Our new math curriculum, Investigations, has students exploring math concepts in a meaning way using real world contexts. The rest of our day is enriched with experiences in Social Studies, Science, Music, Art, Spanish and PE.  Put it all together and you get the exciting, fun year of third grade at Washington.
