Underwood Elementary serves the Bluemound Manor neighborhood and is located in the southwest corner of Wauwatosa, near the Milwaukee Regional Medical Center and the Milwaukee County Zoo.

Our neighborhood is quietly tucked away, but conveniently located to some of the City's most traveled roadways including Wisconsin Avenue, Bluemound Road, and Mayfair Road.

Our school campus includes a large outdoor green space which our students enjoy during recess and before and after-school play. Additionally, in the 2017-18 school year, we added the District's second elementary STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) program to our school; USTEM.

Families interested in enrolling in the USTEM program are selected through a lottery process versus neighborhood attendance boundary lines. 

At Underwood, we strive to create a united effort between the school, home, and community. Our goal is to provide a positive, safe environment which promotes respect for authority, self, others, and property. Together, we seek to individualize education for all learners and help children reach their full potential.

We have received recognition from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction for our work to create a culturally responsive system of support to meet the needs of ALL students. (2015 School of Distinction and 2016 School of Merit)

In addition to being supported by our community, Underwood staff works hard to give back. We were recognized with a trophy for Top Staff Participation in a monthly community support challenge through the Wauwatosa Education Association in the 2016-17 school year.
